Our objective is to organise trips to places of interest to our members and we try to arrange a visit each month to one of a great variety of destinations and attractions. This may be local, such as Media City in Salford and, in these cases we make a group booking and members make their own arrangements for transport.
Most trips, however, are further afield and involve coach transport. Examples include the Great Yorkshire Show or the World of Glass at St Helens. We then book the coach and the cost will usually cover the coach fare, a tip for the driver, and the cost of admission (except for National Trust destinations as many people, but not all, are members).
Finally, once a year, we may organize a trip involving an overnight stay for one or two nights. The latest example was a trip to Durham cathedral, Hartlepool, and Beamish. In these cases arrangements for the overnight accommodation are made with the coach company or travel agents.
Some thought goes into choosing the destination so that we cater for as wide a range of interests as possible. Bookings are taken at our monthly general meetings, usually starting two or three months before the date of the trip. Full details of our current projects can be found in the Newsletter, (see the link on the Home page), and we look forward to seeing you on one of the outings in the near future.

Abigails Party - Theatre Visit
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the theare visit to Abigails Party. It is described as a tragic comedy and has at its heart the domineering hostess, Beverley, forcing ‘ciggies’, cheesy nibbles and copious amounts of booze on her ill matched guests, the newly arrived neighbours ‘Ange and Tone’. Late to the party is Sue, a very anxious,…
