We are planning a midweek day visit in March 2027 by train to see the Tapestry, which is one of the world’s most famous pieces of embroidered medieval art. It was produced almost 1,000 years ago and chronicles the legendary tale of the Norman conquest when William the Conquerer invaded and defeated King Harold Godwinson on 14th October 1066 at the Battle of Hastings.

Details: 10.15am train to Euston (sandwiches on train) arrive Euston 12.40pm. Bus 0r tube and short walk to the museum. To be arranged.

On 21st September the second batch of tickets will be on sale and we will endeavour to purchase a timed entry (40 min slot) with free audio for week March 9th/10th/11th (that midweek)
Tickets to be booked at £28 p.p. (£1 donation).
Cost overall for train and entry around £75-£80pp.

(b) we require a £30 p.p.deposit on or before Thursday (cash or cheque to MB&MU3A (Outings) to secure ticket on 21 September.This will, of course, be refunded if we are unable to secure the tickets, or have sufficient interest. We need 11/12 members to make this possible.
